Introducing Onyfix Nail Correction System

November 21, 2024

What is Onyfix?

Onyfix is a non-surgical, nail correction system that reshapes and retrains distorted and ingrown nails naturally. Involving a moldable resin, applied in a band that adheres to the nail, the treatment is entirely painless, highly effective and suitable for adults, children and diabetics. Onyfix nail brace for ingrown nails is both painless and affordable. All of our podiatrists have trained to be able to provide this treatment. If you have involuted or ingrown toenails, talk to your podiatrist about whether Onyfix is the solution for you.

How does it work?

1. The Onyfix composite is applied to the nail at the widest point to create a band or at the corner where the nail is pinching to provide instant relief of discomfort.

2. After the composite is cured in the LED light, Onyfix is fixed to the nail in its proximal shape without any tension.

3. The Onyfix nail correction system ensures that the nail shape is retrained as the nail grows naturally. This can take several months.

4. Once complete, the composite is removed and the nail continues to grow naturally.

Who Benefits From Onyfix

The Onyfix Nail Correction System serves as an invaluable tool for a broad spectrum of patients. This toenail corrector is particularly advantageous for individuals suffering from various nail conditions, offering a non-invasive, pain-free alternative to traditional approaches. Here’s who stands to benefit from Onyfix the most:

  1. Paitents With Ingrown Toenails

Onyfix provides immediate relief by gently correcting the nail's shape without causing discomfort or tension, making it ideal for those who've struggled with chronic ingrown toenail pain.

  1. Patients With Split Or Pincer Toenails

The Onyfix system promotes natural nail growth and prevents further complications by correcting deformities in the nail structure, ensuring long-term health and effective management of these issues.

  1. Diabetics Seeking Non-Invasive Solutions

Given its non-invasive technique, Onyfix stands out as a safer option for diabetics or anyone wary of surgical or painful treatments. The Onyfix process is swift, effective, and requires no invasive procedures.

How Many Treatments are Required?

The Onyfix system is normally adhered to your toenail for about 2-3 months. When the toenail grows, the Onyfix will grow with the toenail and retrain an involuted, or ingrowing nail, back to its natural shape. There will need to be repeated applications of the Onyfix as it grows higher up your nail plate, usually four over 12-18 months.

How is it different from traditional nail bracing?

Traditional nail bracing usually involves a hook pulling under the edges of the nail. We apply Onyfix only to the top surface of your nails and it does not twist or lift your nail. As a result, Onyfix is completely comfortable and does not risk any cracking or lifting of the nail (onycholysis) which may encourage other problems like fungal nails. Onyfix does not force your nail into a better position. Instead, it gradually changes the path of least resistance which your nail tends to grow in.
